Donor Visit in DE RMSA School

About DE-RMSA Program

Digital Equalizer - Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan program is school level teacher training program was started since 21^st May, 2012 in 50 govt. schools of district Patiala. AIF have collaboration with Department of school education Govt. of Punjab. 80% to 90% teachers are enrolled in this program.

                                                    Technical training to the teachers has been completed in all the schools based on ILTM. We have covered MS Paint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Internet and Integrated Technology. We provide the training about inserting videos, pictures, use khan academy, download projects from digital library and use teacher forum for project sharing. We have started the training on Pedagogy. Teachers have started to use the technology for their day-to-day teaching.  Teachers have already started to develop the digital content based on hard spot of their curriculum. Class 6^th to 10^th Students are also developing projects based on their curriculum.

About Donor Visit in School

GSSS Sidhuwal (Patiala) one of the DE-RMSA school of Patiala district. DE-RMSA is a Techno-Pedagogy teacher training program, started in May 2012. AIF is providing training support to school teachers & students. Ms. Sapna Menon is AIF-trainer who provides training to the teachers as well as students under the program.

AIF’s well wishers from USA Ms. Masha Sajdeh and Mr. Rohan Sajdeh visited the school on 4th April 2013. They were accompanied with their three kids.

They were very curious to see teaching-learning process under DE-RMSA Program. They had discussions with school Principal, teaching staff, students & AIF-trainer, about the objective and impact of DE program.

Mr. Santosh (Regional Coordinator Digital Equilizer Program, Punjab), Mr. Harinder Singh (Regional Coordinator Digital Equilizer-RMSA Program, Punjab), Mr. Rajinder Singh(Training Officer DE-RMSA Program Patiala), Ms. Sapna Menon (DE-RMSA Trainer) and school Staff welcome the donors welcomed  and honored the visitors.

Donor’s discussion with school head:-

Ms. Masha Sajdeh and Mr. Rohan Sajdeh discuss with school Principal & teachers about their experience & expectations from DE-RMSA program.

Ms. Masha also asks DE-RMSA Trainer about her teacher training experience in the schools. Mr. Santosh also provides the brief information about DE-RMSA program in the school.

They visited the whole school. They visited computer lab.

Discussion with school staff

Ms. Masha  read the student projects, teacher projects and events detail under DE program from DE Dashboard. Ms.Masha also took photographs of DE Dashboard, DE Signage and computer lab. Ms. Masha also visited DE website(depunjab.org).

They also found some teachers were use system in computer lab independently. Few teachers were doing their official work; some were preparing PowerPoint projects and Lesson plans for students.

Donor’s Discussion with school staff:-

Teachers represent student projects and their projects to the donors. Ms. Masha liked student project on punctuation and told Ms.Nidhi(English Mistress) to mail this project at the same time on her email id. Ms. Nidhi mailed the project to Ms. Masha. She also asked teachers how DE program affects their life.

Discussion with Students:-

Ms. Masha also visited classrooms. She ask various question to class 6^th students regarding computer education like what are the various parts of computer? She also asked the student what they want to do in future. One student replied,” I want to protect the systems from hackers”. Ms.Masha smiled and she was very happy to see the confidence of students. A little girl from 6^th class sang a song on Bhagat Singh. Ms. Masha praised that girl.

Visit to school science and math labs:-

Ms. Masha Sajdeh and Mr. Rohan Sajdeh visited Science and Math Lab of school with their children. In the science lab Science Mistress Ms.Parminder Kaur show science working model and explain its working. They also visited new science lab of school which was under construction.

In Math Lab, math teacher Mr. Gurtej Singh and Ms. Naresh Kaur show their Teaching Aid and Math’s working model and also explain their working to the children of donors. Math Master Mr. Gurtej Singh also gave a math working model to the child of donors as a present.

Visit of Mid Day Meal kitchen:-

Donors also visited mid day meal kitchen. They also saw how the food has prepared in school for students. They also check the quality of food.

Visit of Eduset Lab:-

Donors also visited Eduset Lab and saw the devices and furniture of Eduset lab. They also discussed about the working of Eduset Lab’s systems.

Discussion with AIF Representatives:-

Donors also discussed about DE program with AIF Representatives. Donors also asked to AIF Representatives that what type of facilities they provide to school. How they choose the schools to start DE program? How they evaluate the teachers that DE program make the difference in the day to day life.
